Butterflies in the Garden
Volunteer among the butterflies! The tropical conservatory will be home to live butterflies March 1-30, 2008, and there are many volunteer jobs available, morning and afternoon, every day of the week. We need people:
• inside the conservatory
• at the vestibule
• in the gift shop
• greeting visitors
• helping with school groups Mon-Fri mornings

We ask that volunteers attend a single, three-hour training session. For your convenience, we are offering training three times:
• Saturday, Feb 2, 9am to noon
• Tuesday, Feb 5, 5:30pm to 8:30pm
• Wednesday, Feb 6, 8:30am to 11:30am
Volunteers will also take a sneak peek at the exhibit before it opens.

Please contact Nick Reeder with your name and choice of training session. Nicholas.Reeder@fortworthgov.org or 817 871 7966.

One of the best assets of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is our enthusiastic volunteer base. Volunteers provide the garden with substantial contributions in many areas including:

Special events
Have a blast doing children's crafts such as face painting, origami, and suminagashi. Participate with performers as an attendant and work in the annual Concerts in the Garden and Squirrel Run.
Greenhouse
Maintain and propagate plants including tropicals and the begonia collection while you learn from a knowledgeable staff.
Gardens
Learn and work with a gardener in one of the 21 specialty gardens planting, weeding, and other garden maintenance.
Gift Shop
Be the first to see new merchandise as you unpack and
stock shelves and act as customer relations ambassador to visitors from many places in the world.
Clerical
Work with fun groups copying, folding, stuffing and preparing mailings.
Education
Discover how much fun it is educating children in programs
such as What is a Flower For?, Tops and Bottoms, and Rock
Springs Meander.

Training is available for all of our volunteers.

Volunteering offers learning opportunities as well as a chance to give back to the community. To offer your much needed service please call the volunteer coordinator at (817) 871-7966.
