LOWER ROSE GARDEN
 

Classic European elegance and grandeur is the hallmark of the Lower Rose Garden. Inspired by the Italy's renowned Villa Lante and accentuated with vista views, this garden is a natural for weddings and garden parties. Thousands of supple rose blossoms create an environment that both excites the senses and soothes the soul.

OVAL ROSE GARDEN
 

Recently renovated (January 2002), this historic rose garden will enchant you with its classic design, charming gazebo, and, of course, hundreds of roses. Designed for picturesque intimate weddings, "The Oval" features the cream of the crop of Texas-acclimated roses.

FULLER GARDEN
 

The relaxed elegance and floral color of the Fuller Garden makes it perfect for weddings, garden parties, or simply a soothing stroll. Curving paths lead you through a dramatic series of thought-provoking color schemes and garden themes. Powerful architectural structures fuse seamlessly with botanical elements, enticing you to explore and ultimately understand the spirit of this garden that echoes the ever-changing stages of life.

JAPANESE GARDEN
 

Enter a world of mystery and enchantment in the Japanese Garden. Serpentine paths entice you to surrender your senses and discover a new treasure at every turn. Feed thousands of exotic Imperial Carp (Koi) that beseech your attention; some will accept a gentle caress in exchange for a few pellets of food. Stone, earth, leaf, and water become one in this 7-acre land of wonder.

PERENNIAL GARDEN
 

From the frothy waterfall framed with sparkling floral color to the soothing brook laden with ferns, the Perennial Garden has something for everyone. Chefs will appreciate the culinary herb collection. Children love exploring the ponds while their parents enjoy the serenity of the lush shady retreats. A favorite of photographers, this little jewel has delighted guests for many years, making it a true "perennial favorite."

FRAGRANCE GARDEN
 

Designed to delight your nose and renew your sense of wonder, the Fragrance Garden features dozens of scented plants for your enjoyment. Just rub the leaves to release amazing and astonishing aromas into the air. Complete with a delightful fountain and ivy-covered fences, this pocket garden is the perfect intimate setting for small weddings, garden parties, or simple quality time with children.

TRIAL GARDEN
 

If you seek the best in specialty plants and new varieties, the Trial Garden is your destination. Hundreds of species of perennials are grown and evaluated here, and you just may be surprised which ones have the right stuff to graduate to permanent plantings in the Botanic Garden. Come, learn, and relax in the octagonal gazebo…and don't miss the Giant Bluebonnet that looms nearby!

FOUR SEASONS GARDEN
 

Hundreds of varieties of iris, daylily, and chrysanthemum are packed into the beds that line this slim strolling garden, tucked away quietly between the live oaks. A favorite of our visitors who seek quiet contemplation, the Four Seasons provides the excitement of color and botanical hybridization in a setting that allows relaxed reflection of the surroundings.

TEXAS NATIVE FOREST BOARDWALK
 

The Texas Native Forest Boardwalk is a living outdoor classroom—an elevated boardwalk with viewing platforms and educational features that also acts as a pathway connecting major features of the Botanic Garden. Its purpose is to stimulate interest in the native forest and to encourage visitors to use what they discover about stewardship and conservation in their own home environment.

CONSERVATORY
 

Luxuriant tropical foliage fills the 10,000 square foot Conservatory. Explore the winding paths to discover a kaleidoscope of orchids, bromeliads and exotic trees from around the world.

WATER CONSERVATION GARDEN
 

Having a colorful, vibrant garden doesn’t have to mean high water bills. The soon to be completed Water Conservation Garden will offer visitors a wealth of native and well-adapted beauties to discover and enjoy. Once established, these plants use little water and are also wildlife and people friendly.

WATER WISE ENTRANCE
 

The Water Wise Entrance is the northern gateway to the Garden. A profusion of colorful native low water use plants flourish here from April through October, including agave, Texas sage, salvia greggii, Mexican Bush sage, red yucca and Esparanza.
