Docent-guided tours of the Japanese Garden may be scheduled by calling our education office at (817) 871-7682. Docent-guided tours must be scheduled with the education office at least three weeks in advance of the tour date. A confirmation slip will be mailed along with tour rules. Please ask the contact person to allow 1-1½ hours for all docent-guided tours in the Japanese Garden.

Tours may be scheduled for 1st grade students and older. There must be one adult for every five children 7th grade and under. Over the 7th grade, one adult for every ten children will be required. Docents may not be counted as accompanying adults. Scheduled tours are priced as follows: $3.00 per child (w/docent) $4.00 per adult (w/docent)

When a docent is requested, ten adult admissions must be paid in advance for a total of $30.00. This $30.00 deposit holds your time and date. Deposit of $30.00 must be in the education office two weeks in advance of the tour. On the day of the tour if less than ten people show up, the deposit of $30.00 is kept. If no one shows, the deposit is forfeited.

Only tours canceled 36 hours or more in advance will receive a refund. If the tour is canceled the day of the tour due to rain or inclement weather, there will be a refund. If there are any changes in a scheduled tour, or if the tour is canceled the day of the tour (or the day before), the following departments or persons should be notified at once:
